PayPoint Romania, the leading retail-based bill and mobile top-up payment service in Romania is announcing the expansion of its agreement with Scala Assistance! Consumers now have the possibility to pay for their Road Tax in over 9,000 partner stores country-wide.
In April 2014, PayPoint began its partnership with Scala Assistance, the company which is authorised to collect Road Tax, and the service was progressively rolled out across PayPoint’s network. The excellent results recorded up until now, combined with increasing demand from consumers and efforts made with the regulatory agency, have resulted in the expansion of the service to over 9,000 PayPoint partner stores.
The method of payment for the Road Tax remains quick and secure: customers go into the nearest participating PayPoint store and provide the retailer with the information required to register that the Road Tax has been paid. The process is quick and secure: once the retailer has recorded the data on the terminal, the customer pays, in cash, and receives a receipt with all the necessary details (date, amount, location, Road Tax registration number, etc).
By increasing the availability for this service, PayPoint furthers its efforts to provide as many services as possible to an ever-increasing number of consumers, a great deal of which are living in rural areas where alternative methods of payment are few or non-existent.

Along with paying for their
Romanian Road Tax, consumers are also able to use PayPoint terminals to pay bills for utilities (electricity, gas, water, sanitation etc), mobile phone plans, internet or cable TV as well as buy mobile phone top-ups and airplane tickets, pay for security services, repay loans and even transfer money, both internally and internationally, at selected PayPoint locations.
